She began her creative journey in analog photography, spending years working in a film lab and photo studio while also freelancing as a photographer for nearly a decade. This hands-on foundation naturally led her back to exploring visual art - using oil pastel and charcoal as her mediums of choice. It has allowed her to continue to work intuitively and embrace texture, the imperfections, and rawness that is difficult to replicate digitally.
Creatively, Jade is a jack-of-all-trades. In addition to her traditional art practice, she has strong technical experience ranging from professional and at-home film processing and scanning to working with Creative Cloud and other digital tools. She also holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing; this gives her a solid foundation in visual strategy, audience engagement, and project execution for both freelance and in-house creative roles.
Born and raised in rural Maine, Jade has always been drawn to nature, quiet, and the simplicity of life before everything went digital. That pull toward the tangible is a big part of why she works primarily in oil pastel and occasionally charcoal. She is interested in the authenticity and realness that traditional art and analog processes provide; things that feel lived-in and honest. Her work reflects this focus by emphasizing on mood, feeling, and the simple moments.
