I first got my start in analog photography, spending years working in a film lab and photo studio while also freelancing as a photographer for nearly a decade. That time taught me to appreciate the physical, imperfect side of photographing. That hands-on foundation naturally led me into charcoal and oil pastel – mediums that let me work intuitively and embrace texture, imperfections, and the kind of rawness you can’t really replicate digitally.
Creatively, I’m a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. Along with my traditional art practice, I have strong technical experience from professional and at-home film processing and scanning to working within Creative Cloud and other digital tools. I also hold a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing, which gives me a solid foundation in visual strategy, audience engagement, and project execution for both freelance and in-house creative roles.
Born and raised in rural Maine, I’ve always been drawn to nature, quiet, and the simplicity of life before everything went digital. That pull toward the tangible is a big part of why I work mainly in charcoal and oil pastel. I’m interested in the authenticity and realness you get from traditional art and analog processes. Things that feel lived-in and honest. My work reflects that, focusing on mood, feeling, and the everyday moments that often get overlooked.
